Sales Policy
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to hold/reserve an available animal sold from our farm. Deposit must be received within 24 hours of your chosen animal. At this time, we accept cash, PayPal ( friends and family only ), or Venmo. Any reserved animal ( goat, puppy/dog, horse/pony ) must be paid in FULL by the time of pickup. If the animal is still not paid for by the agreed pickup date, any previous payments will be forfeited and will NOT be refunded. There are no exceptions to this rule.
At this time, all kids are a combination of bottle and dam raised, as well as started on coccidia preventative if needed. Kids are generally available for pickup by 8 weeks of age, at my discretion. If kids are solely bottle fed they can be available around 3-4 weeks. All animals must be picked up by the date arranged, and failure to pickup by said agreed upon date will result in forfeiture of the sale and any deposited monies.
We generally prefer to sell kids as pairs, unless you own similar aged kids already. We will absolutely NOT sell only one goat unless you have other goats. Goats are herd animals and CANNOT live alone.
If purchasing wethers-to-be. It is my expectation that the buyer will have the buckling wethered no sooner than 12 weeks of age( recommended would be 14-16 weeks minimum) and any fees associated with wethering will be incurred by the buyer. The buyer is welcome to bring their buckling back to me for wethering at no charge if they wish.
All kids will be disbudded ( unless polled) and any registered kids will be tattooed prior to sale. Your new goat will come with either a signed registration paper for transfer, or a registration form for submission to ADGA.
Sugar Mountain Farm reserves the right to cancel any reservation at any time, and a full refund would be returned to buyer. If deposit has been received, we could move it to another animal, or refund would be returned to buyer. This is also applies if the kid of your choice is not available. ** If the buyer backs out of sale for any circumstance after placing a deposit , the deposit will NOT be refunded. **
** We do not guarantee height of your animal **
All sales are final. In the event the buyer chooses to sell a Sugar Mountain goat in the future, we request first right of refusal.
Buyer is responsible for any health certificates, all shipping costs, and cost of crate. Delivery is available or I will meet up to 100 miles from my farm at a rate of $2.00 per mile which must be paid prior to the trip.
We reserve the right to retain any animal on our farm.
Health Guarantee
You have the right to have any animal you purchase examined, on our property by a Veterinarian, at your expense prior to pick up. If, at this pre-purchase exam the vet finds the kid to be unsound any deposits will be refunded.
Kids are healthy at the time they leave our property. I cannot guarantee the health of the animal once it leaves our property. Since, I can no longer control the animal’s environment or management once they leave my care, I assume no responsibility.
We do not guarantee conformation, height, milking ease of udders or teat length. We do not guarantee against scurs.
We have NEVER had a case of CAE, CL or Johnes in my herd. All have been tested for CAE, CL and Johne's. The most recent testing done in 2020 - next testing summer of 2022 - results are on the biosecurity page. I will continue to test each mature doe/buck every other year going forward.
If you request any of my goats to be retested for CAE, CL or Johnes after viewing my last results, I will have it redone at your expense (which include; my time, supplies, shipping and lab fees).
